Bristol – Defend the right to protest! Free Palestine!

The arrest of Stop The War Vice Chair Chris Nineham and other activists (including a Bristol comrade) who were peacefully demonstrating in solidarity with Palestine on Saturday 18th January 2025, is a blatant suppression of the democratic right to protest.

The aggressive policing was not just an attempt to crush the Palestine solidarity movement and create flimsy pretexts to justify banning future marches – it was also an assault on our freedoms of assembly and protest using the anti-protest laws introduced under the last Conservative government.

We must resist this escalation of repression and affront to democracy!

WE WILL MARCH!

Speakers:

Chris Nineham, Deputy Chair of Stop the War Coalition and Chief Steward of the National Palestine Demonstrations

Ben Jamal, Director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign who has been charged with public order offences

Jamila Alkhuffash, Bristol Palestinian Voices

Hussein Said, Spokesperson for the Justice for Kwabena Campaign
