Please donate to Counterfire’s 2025 appeal today

Saturday’s national demonstration for Palestine saw an intensification of police repression against our movement with 77 arrests including chief steward and Counterfire member Chris Nineham.

Thank you to everyone that sent messages of solidarity and protested outside the police station. Chris has been charged with breaching the Public Order Act, and the police have also brought similar charges against PSC director Ben Jamal and questioned Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell under caution.

This is an outrageous attack on our right to protest and on the Palestine movement which must be resisted. Counterfire will be at the forefront of the campaign to defend our civil liberties and in the continuing struggle for Palestinian liberation.

We need your help. We have been central to the movement in the last 15 months and the new political terrain we are entering which threatens our rights, we will have even more campaigning to do, adding further challenges to us.

Last week we launched an appeal to raise £25,000, which we really need to raise even more urgently now. Please give generously and help us reach our target so we can keep doing the vital work we’re doing.

Before you go

The ongoing genocide in Gaza, Starmer’s austerity and the danger of a resurgent far right demonstrate the urgent need for socialist organisation and ideas. Counterfire has been central to the Palestine revolt and we are committed to building mass, united movements of resistance. Become a member today and join the fightback.
