Workers in a number of sectors are taking strike action, get down to your nearest picket line and show them your support

  • UCU members at Goldsmiths are on strike this week 25-28 June. Watch this video from an UCU rep on the picket line.
  • Junior doctors who are BMA members will be on strike from 27 June for five days. On 27 June there will be a junior doctor national rally in Whitehall, outside Downing Street. Please arrive at 2pm before the rally starts at 2.30pm. Counterfire will have a stall so meet up at 2pm if you are coming. 
  • NEU Brent The battle against the forced academisation of Byron Court Primary school in the London Borough of Brent continues next week with strikes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 
  • Unison members who are mental health professionals employed by Barnet Council are on strike. They are now in to their eighth week of continuous action. Barnet Unison have called a ‘Banners Held High’ lobby of Barnet Council on Tuesday, 9 July at 6pm outside Hendon Town Hall, NW4 4BG. Read more from Barnet Unison.
  • NUJ members at Springer Nature (Kings Cross) have taken two days of strike action in the past week and have announced six days for next month: 4, 9, 22, 24, 30 and 31 July. Read more from NUJ.
  • NASUWT and NEU members are striking at St Benedict’s Independent School in West London this week 26 and 27 June. Read more from NASUWT.
  • Unite members who are theatre nurses at Guys and St Thomas’ hospitals will strike on 27 June and 2 July. Read more from Unite.
  • Unite Greenwich Council Housing workers will strike on 1–2 and 15–16 July. Read more from Unite.
