Glasgow Counterfire is hosting this public meeting with Lindsey German, Maddalena Dunscombe, and Vladimir Unkovski-Korica
Last weekend, up to a million people in London and Scotland defied the government and MET Police and marched for a ceasefire on Gaza. As a result, Suella Braverman was sacked, crises have erupted within Tories and Labour, and the Police are juggling the blame – the British State is shaking.
Join the discussion on the past, present and future of this movement. How can masses of ordinary people further challenge Britain’s support for Israeli violence? Can we build a movement that objects to ‘Special Relationship’ ties with US foreign policy?
Leading off will be Lindsey German, author of How a Century of War Changed the Lives of Women and National Convenor of Stop the War Coalition – one of the organisations that rejected the MET Police requests to abandon the march. Mads Dunscombe is a socialist activist helping to organise the antiwar movement among students in Glasgow.
