On International Workers’ Day, protesters around the country are preparing to take to the streets for a third nationwide day of action against the Police and Crime Bill, and in Scotland for independence

This Saturday on 1 May, protesters will again mobilise across the country to both oppose the Police and Crime Bill and commemorate International Workers’ Day. Our democratic rights have been won by the working class and the proposed expansion of police powers is an assault on them. The labour movement and the movement to Kill the Bill are inextricably linked and this weekend’s protests will be a testament to that.

In Scotland, there is a national day of action for independence with protests taking place in a number of towns and cities, listed below.

This weekend’s actions will be part of gearing up to The People’s Assembly’s national demonstration on 26 June when restrictions will be lifted and we can all come together for a mass demonstration of resistance.
